Transformer is an electrical equipment of statis, what changes electric energy from level voltage which one to level of other voltage. Existence of this device enables for makes electric energy at voltage that is low relative and its the transmission at high voltage with low current, so that will lessen losing of linear circuit and applied at safe voltage.

Basically a transformer consisted of two or more coil connected by magnetic field together. If when one of coil ( primary winding ) connected to source of alternating current strain, hence will arise reciprocating welding flux which the amplitude depend on level of primary voltage and number of coils. Welding flux will connect other coil ( secondary winding ) and will induce voltage in it assessing it depend on secondary coil amounts.

Determination of Transformer Polarity

Transformer polarity can be showed by the way of giving signal point at primary terminal and secondary. This stamping type applied at device transformer. However, at high voltage winding ends power transformer is said the word by H1 and H2 and low winding ends is said the word by X1 and X2 ( see picture 1.11 ).

With convention H1 and X1 has same grade meaning when H1 at one time positive, hence X1 forthwith positive. This stamping of vital importance applied to specify the relation of correct terminal when connecting transformer 1 parallel phase, break even or configuraton 3 phase.

In the erection four transformer terminals is attached by the way of standart, so that transformer has polarity additif and polarity subtractif. At picture's 1.12, a transformer has polarity additif if located H1 terminal of at the oposite diagonally with terminal X1. And so do transformer has polarity subtractif if terminal H1 nearby X1 terminal.

If at transformer coils there is no stamping of polarity, must be done by the way of strain gauging. Firstly, tip of high voltage coils is said the word by H1 and H2. Then jumper is connected between between tip of H1 with coil of low voltage which nearby that, and Voltmeter is connected between H2 and tip of other low voltage then in supply through tip H1 and H2, and read of voltmeter is noted. If read of bigger voltmeter compared to strain used, hence transformer has polarity additive.
