How to Clean an Auto A/C Evaporator
- 1). Turn the engine off and allow all surrounding components to cool properly before cleaning the air conditioner evaporator.
- 2). Mix water and mild detergent into a handheld spray bottle. The gentle spray will not cause any damage to the evaporator.
- 3). Pull the trigger on the spray bottle to release the mixture. Spray the air conditioner evaporator until the surface is wet. Allow the mixture to soak for 15 minutes so it can penetrate the debris. Do not allow the mixture to dry completely.
- 4). Dip a rag into a bucket of water. Gently wipe away the detergent mixture. Continue this process until the evaporator is visibly clean.
